Tax, Filing and Accounting Service Terms

Version 1.1

On this page

These supplementary terms apply to federal and state tax returns, CT600, Annual Accounts, bookkeeping and other tax and accounting services purchased for the US or the UK and stated in the order. They apply together with the Terms of Service.

1. The customer's record-keeping obligations

To the extent required for the service, the customer provides the following accurately, completely and legibly:

  • bank statements;
  • reports from Wise, Payoneer, Stripe, PayPal or other payment providers;
  • reports from Amazon, Shopify, Etsy or other sales platforms, where used in the business model;
  • income and expense records;
  • invoices and records serving as invoices;
  • company and shareholding details;
  • prior-period filings;
  • payroll or contractor records;
  • tax identification details;
  • other financial records reasonably requested by TaxKolay.

2. Delivery deadline

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the customer must deliver the required documents to TaxKolay at least one month before the relevant deadline.

For files delivered after that date, TaxKolay may make reasonable efforts to meet the deadline but does not guarantee that the filing will be made in time. Penalties, interest, late fees or additional government charges arising from late delivery are borne by the customer, unless TaxKolay is at fault.

3. Accuracy of records

TaxKolay may rely on the accuracy of the information provided by the customer. TaxKolay's service is not an independent financial audit. Where data appears suspicious or clearly inconsistent, an explanation or further documents may be requested.

The customer must not conceal income, create false expenses or invoices, or ask TaxKolay to make an untrue filing.

4. Approval before filing

Where possible, a draft, summary or approval screen is presented to the customer before submission. The approval wording is:

"I have checked the filing and summary information presented to me. I confirm that the information and documents I provided to TaxKolay are accurate and complete, and I approve submission of this version."

TaxKolay retains the approved document version and the time of approval.

5. Estimated tax and payment

TaxKolay may prepare a filing; paying the tax due on time remains the customer's responsibility.

Even where TaxKolay has issued a payment instruction, the customer must confirm through their bank or the authority that the payment was successful.

6. Work outside scope

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the standard package does not include:

  • IRS audits and examinations;
  • HMRC enquiries and investigations;
  • state audits;
  • penalty abatement and appeals;
  • extensive notice responses;
  • court or administrative disputes;
  • prior-period amendments;
  • forensic accounting;
  • transfer pricing;
  • complex nexus, VAT or sales tax projects;
  • personalised independent legal opinions.

These require a separate quote.

7. Bookkeeping scope

The monthly transaction volume of a bookkeeping service, the number of bank and payment accounts, currencies, inventory, payroll, the number of platforms and any catch-up work required may affect pricing.

If the scope in the order is exceeded, additional pricing may be agreed in advance.

8. Prior periods and opening balances

Where the customer's accounting records from before they came to TaxKolay are inaccurate or incomplete, correction and catch-up work may not be included in the standard current-period package.

9. Liability

TaxKolay carries out its professional work with reasonable care. Consequences arising from information the customer concealed, provided incorrectly or later changed cannot be attributed to TaxKolay unless TaxKolay is at fault.

10. Governing language

The Turkish version of this document prevails. The English translation is provided for information purposes only; in the event of any discrepancy between the two, the Turkish version applies.
